New Year Day at Temple

All of the pictures were taken from the Thean Hou Temple.
In the first picture I am sitting in front of the dragon. I am a fire dragon that means that I need to be balanced with water, and I get very hot if I do not have water.

In the next picture I am holding one of the many turtles of the next photo. And last but not the least the people that are cooking the vegetarian food that we ate.

A lot of people go to the temple to pray for good health and wealth, right at the starting of the new year. It is traditional for Hainanese family's like ours to go to this temple every new years day as the temple is supported by the Hainanese association.

Eating durian at home.

If some body could hold a durian like my kong kong that would be so amazing!!
The durians spikes are really spicky so if you held one up you could barely hold it for a second.

The odor of durian is so strong that my nose can not get used to the smell.

First of all I can barely take the smell of the durian so, I could NEVER take the taste of it. :

At 1Utama Mall

The thing that I am riding is one of the many entertainments at the mall.
It was $5.00 MYR for a ride.

Fresh market Section 17

Can you guess where this big market is? It is in a PARKING LOT!!!

In Malaysia you can see that the markets are very different then the American markets. You do not see chickens that are alive, fresh fish, peanuts that are still on the plant, etc.

The pictures that you are seeing are only just a little bit of the market.

Top to Bottom , left to right

1. Selling petai. It is found in the forest.

2. Squid / sotong [ SOH-THONG] in Malay - huge

3. Fresh Fish

4. Live kampung [ village ] chicken.

Malacca trip jan 7

The fountain on the left is called the Queen Victoria Fountain. The Dutch built this a long time ago and it is still working perfectly. My brother loved it because you would get to get wet, and it was so hot and humid.

The portuguese left many red buildings and that is why the chunch is red.

The church that I am standing in front of is 257 years old!!!! It was built in 1753.

When the Dutch took over Melaka from the hand of the Portuguese, they built several buildings for their own purposes. This church was built as a place of worship as they did not have any church for themselves apart from the small chapel built by Portuguese on St. Paul Hill. Like St. Paul Church, that church is one of the most attractive heritage in Melaka, that has gone through several changes.

Wedding cars

As you can see in Malaysia the wedding cars are very different to the wedding cars in USA.

We were on our way back from dinner with my Uncle Boon in a mall on Christmas Day. There were many weddings that day as it was considered an auspicious day.

To eat or not...

This is available for order at Duck King restaurant. It is a type of clam.
