Tanjung Sepat in Selangor

1. A passion fruit tree. Can you see the fruits. It is not ready for picking yet.


2. These are dragon fruits. They originated from Vietnam.

Dragon fruit is really a cactus fruit. Inside the dragon fruit you would usually think that it is not juicy at all, but really they are high in fiber and are very good. They always make my tongue pink or purple.

3. A close up view of the caktus plant. Since it is a caktus - it cannot support itself. This is why you see there is a wooden stake in the middle with a cross at the top supporting a tire, it looks to be the size of a bicycle tire. Another good way to reuse old tires.


4. A view of the farm. The taller trees are palm oil trees. There are alot of palm oil estates along the way to Tanjung Sepat.

At KLCC - Chinese New Year decorations

There were amazing decorations at KLCC, plus there was even music being played. The people from all of the floors came to watch the players. One of them played the drums.

They got this all for CNY.

That is how important it is in the Chinese culture.

At the Mall near Legend Hotel , downtown KL

The Chinese believe that red is the color of prosperity and good happiness. Decorations outside of the mall. [ picture on left ] .
The gifts below are in baskets shaped like an old Chinese gold bar. It is filled with sweets and other goodies.


In the CNY [ Chinese New Year ] time you can find decorations in all the malls in Malaysia. It is celebrated by the Chinese all over Asia. This is an important festival as the Chinese is the second largest population in Malaysia.

Many Chinese families decorate their houses with CNY decorations. My Poh Poh and Kong Kong's house even have at the least a dozen which I helped to decorate.

For the people that celebrate CNY the new year has not yet started. CNY starts on the 14th of February 2010 and lasts for 15 days. This year it will be the year of the tiger which is depicted in the decoration displayed in this Mall.

Its alive Part 2 @ La La Chong Restaurant

1 & 2 - A Chinese New Year Dish -[ YEE SANG] - means literally ' LIVE FISH' 1. After it is assembled and 2 is prior to assembly. The raw salmon slices is what makes the dish so expensive. It can be substituted with raw jelly fish. There is also a vegetarian version but I have never had it. This is a very popular dish during Chinese New Year and is shared with family and friends to encourage prosperity and good luck for all. Everyone takes part in mixing all the ingredients together, making their wishes for the new year.

3 - La la - the restaurant's signature dish of clams cooked in white wine , ginger slices. 4. Mantis prawn [ seen in Part 1 ] becomes buttered prawn.

My Uncle Lee and his family took us to a Chinese seafood restaurant called La La Cheong in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya for seafood.
At first I said to myself' how could I eat these things? They were so cute and they did the doggy paddle. But then I thought how good they tasted.

In all of the seafood restaurants that I have been to in Malaysia, all of the fishes and other seafood are alive and on display. I had never seen it before in my life.

The lobster that I was holding was so big I could not believe what I was seeing! Yee Ha!!

Can you guess what these foods are? They are all deep fried for you after you pick them.

The milk that I am drinking is not just reagular milk it is fresh ows milk. : )

Butterfly farm in Lake Gardens

The butterfly park that my Kong Kong took me and my brother to, was fantastic! I learned 1 or 2 things. 1 of them was that they liked the bottom part of a pineapple. One of the butterfly's that we saw was about 6 whole inches long. Actually it is the one above the letters, and its colors are green and red on he wings and red and black on the head.
